Microsoft is to launch a new software Windows Phone 8 for upcoming phones, says a latest report, which would not be applicable for the existing phones. While Windows Phone 7 had also been introduced by the firm in 2010, the same had failed to remain the mobile market. However, Nokia has decided last year to use the same for all of its smartphones.
It has been noted that where 23% of Apple’s smartphones were used in the first quarter this year. Also, 59% of Android phones have been used during the period. The Microsoft’s software was used only up to 2.2%.
The company has now been seeking to compete with Apple and Google, which have earned increased number of customers with their sales of iPhone and Android phones.
The new software includes in it various notable features such as "Draw something" and "Words with Friends", which are amongst a total of 100,000 applications for Windows phones.
It would effectively work with near-field communications chips, as per the findings, and will share "kernel", an operating system. Also, it is being said that the new technology would allow for expansion memory cards and have expanded computing power as well. It would probably rule the mobile market.
