To reduce the chances of caesarean section, providing the pregnant mother with a one-to-one midwife care is an ideal solution.

After conducting several trials over Victorian Mothers, the doctors and researchers have discovered Midwife care as the key to cut down the increasing rates of caesarean sections.

According to them, women who get the support of a midwife during pregnancy and labor, have higher chances of giving a natural birth to their child. And in addition to this, they are less likely to ask for pain relief during labour.

When women taking part in the One-to-One Midwifery Support trial were compared with other low-risk women, who were getting the standard care at the hospital, it was found that the former group had a 22% lower risk of having a C-section. In fact, the chances of going for episiotomies and epidurals were also lesser in their case.

There is no doubt to say that natural delivery is a painful and a quite tougher aspect, but if seen with a broader aspect then it is far better than a caesarean birth. Not only for mothers but for children also, natural birth is beneficial. Such babies are healthier as very few of them seek special care after their birth.
