A mother was shocked to find that she has given birth to a child with two fully formed front teeth. This led her to change her mind about breastfeeding to the newborn.
Vicki Griffiths had initially planned to breastfeed her child, but as soon as she realized that her child has two front teeth she changed her mind.
Nurses and midwives were surprised when they found that Eva was born weighing 7lbs 4oz at the James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough. It was Mrs. Griffith's husband who spotted the teeth in his daughter's lower jaw. Mrs. Griffith was having a bath at that time when her husband spotted two front teeth of his daughter.
Mrs. Griffiths, a 26-year-old child minder, said, "When I came back into the room Steven said, "she's got teeth, you know!" and then we both burst out laughing".
Mr. and Mrs. Griffiths are expecting that Eva will soon have more teeth before she is old enough to have Calpol or other children's medicine.
The mother-of-three said that many people appeared to catch a glimpse of Eva's teeth. Nobody could believe it. Even midwives with 25-years of experience were not able to believe it as it was the first time for them to witness a child born with two front teeth.
